Lapa dos Pombos Fishing Port
2 km south of Almograve you’ll find the quaint fishing port of Lapa dos Pombos. In a natural bay, this scanty port is used by small fishing boats. The name (Pombos=pigeon) comes from once being a nesting place for pigeons. Today, we only found seagulls and a fisherman who had just caught a conger eel and a few velvet crabs.
Beaches around Almograve
Almograve Beach
Cavaleiro Beach
A small and charming beach, located in a cove to the north of Cape Sardão. However, at high tide, most of its sand disappears
The promontory, before accessing the beach, gives you the feeling of being at the bow of a ship, advancing boldly into the sea, but be careful, do not venture to close to the bow of that ship, the fall is fatal!
